3. Notification of Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act

In accordance with legal provisions, any form of behavior including but not limited to: a) physical contact or advances, b) solicitation of sexual favors, c) making sexually suggestive remarks, d) displaying pornographic material, e) any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature, constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace. Such actions violate the fundamental rights of women to equality under Articles 14 and 15 of the Constitution of India, as well as their right to life and to live with dignity under Article 21 of the Constitution. Moreover, it infringes upon their right to engage in any profession or occupation within a safe environment free from sexual harassment. The institute has ‘Zero Tolerance Policy’ towards sexual harassment of any kind.
To address instances of sexual harassment effectively, an approved committee, comprising members from various designations, is periodically updated and made available on the college website. Additionally, the list of committee members is prominently displayed across different areas of the college premises. Victims of sexual harassment are encouraged to contact any suitable committee member directly via phone or in writing, or to communicate their concerns to the principal through any available means of communication.
The passage of time from the occurrence of the incident to the lodging of a complaint will not be considered an issue. Upon receipt of a complaint, a meeting of the committee is promptly convened within two working days. During this meeting, the victim may be requested to present themselves physically to provide their statement before the committee members. Subsequently, the complaint is redressed within ten days after its lodging, ensuring swift resolution and appropriate action.
COMPLAINT MECHANISM
A sanctioned committee, comprising members representing diverse designations along with their respective contact numbers, is periodically updated on this website and prominently displayed at various locations within the college premises. Any victim may directly contact any suitable member via phone or in writing, or communicate with the principal through any available means of communication. The duration elapsed since the incident occurred will not be considered a hindrance at the time of lodging the complaint.
REDRESSAL MECHANISM
Following the lodging of a complaint, a meeting of the Sexual Harassment Cell is convened within two working days of the complaint's receipt. During this discussion, the victim may be requested to physically appear before the present members to present their case. Subsequently, the issue is addressed and resolved within three days of the complaint being lodged.
